The intervention involved extraordinary maintenance of the “Galassi” Barracks, headquarters of the Asti Police Headquarters, to bring the building up to current regulations and improve its functionality. Spaces were redeveloped, a new Immigration Office was created, and the fire protection systems were upgraded in compliance with DPR 151/11. A new accessible entrance with dedicated ramps was also constructed.
Energy optimization included the upgrade of the heating system and the use of BIM for efficient design. The spaces were reorganized into two main areas: the east side, intended for the public, with an atrium, offices, and services; and the west side, reserved for operational functions.
Modular partition panels were installed to increase flexibility, along with a ceiling system for managing utilities, integrating solutions for ventilation, electricity, and security. The project also provides for remediation of water infiltration and the replacement of windows and doors with high-performance thermal and acoustic solutions, ensuring comfort, safety, and energy efficiency.
