The project involved the construction of an outdoor laboratory dedicated to research on climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, with particular focus on sustainable water resource management. The intervention included the construction of a rainwater storage tank with a capacity of approximately 270 m³, topped by an intensive green roof. The system integrated a first-flush tank derived from modifications to existing installations and a collection network composed of PVC pipes, manholes, and inlets to capture water from roofs and external surfaces.
The green roof, with a substrate of approximately 70 cm, allowed controlled percolation and drainage toward the underlying tank, contributing to thermal regulation and microclimate improvement of the area. The project also included the installation of sensors for monitoring meteorological and environmental parameters, as well as pumping systems for irrigation reuse of the collected water.
The Construction Management supervised the entire process, ensuring regulatory compliance, quality control, and technical-operational coordination of the site.
