The project involves the structural upgrade of the Ex Sati parking facility located within the urban fabric of Genoa. Both architectural and structural interventions were planned across all floors of the building, which is complex in terms of form and load-bearing elements. The reinforced concrete structure, dating back to the 1950s, currently presents serious stability issues that will be addressed through reinforcement of all its components.
A complete BIM reconstruction of the structure was fundamental, allowing precise analysis of architectural elements for structural calculation and verification. The building’s systems will be dismantled and redesigned, and the facility will be brought up to fire safety standards while eliminating all architectural barriers.
Revitalizing this building is not only essential for citizen safety but will also provide the neighborhood with a renewed and safer space for vehicle parking, a crucial element given the characteristic structure and composition of Genoa’s urban fabric.
