The intervention reinterpreted the existing building through an extension that redefined its form, functional hierarchies, and relationship with the site. The demolition of the original roof and stairwell allowed the introduction of a new residential volume, developed over two levels and connected to the existing building through a vertical circulation system reimagined as a spatial and luminous hinge.
The new volume, constrained within the lot boundaries, was configured as a sequence of solids and voids: the garage on the ground floor, the apartment on the first floor, and the upper terraces designed as outdoor extensions of the interior spaces. Flat roofs, ventilated façades, and parapets incorporating planters established a coherent architectural language based on compact surfaces, oblique cuts, and continuous materials.
The high-performance envelope, combined with a heat pump, photovoltaic panels, and solar thermal system, enabled the achievement of energy class A4. The organization of the external area integrated parking, greenery, and new access points, ensuring regulatory compliance and a more orderly relationship with the street frontage.
