The intervention involved the renovation, expansion, and energy upgrade of the Luserna San Giovanni Municipal Swimming Pool, with the aim of transforming the facility into a nearly zero-energy building (NZEB) and improving the usability of both indoor and outdoor spaces. The project enhanced the existing sports complex, prioritizing sustainable construction solutions consistent with the Minimum Environmental Criteria (D.M. 11.10.2017).
From a construction perspective, asbestos-containing materials were removed, roofs were replaced, and new high-performance walls and dry partitions were installed. Interior spaces were reorganized to improve accessibility, in accordance with D.M. 236/1989.
The building envelope was upgraded with thermal insulation, triple-glazed windows, and systems to mitigate thermal bridges. The plant systems were completely renewed: heat pumps, controlled mechanical ventilation, and 99 kWp solar thermal and photovoltaic systems ensure energy autonomy.
Externally, a new 16 x 8 m in-ground pool was constructed, along with new pathways and equipped green areas. The intervention, planned to last 365 days, promotes urban regeneration, environmental sustainability, and community well-being.
