The intervention involved the design and construction revision of a residential building developed over three above-ground floors, an inhabitable attic, and a basement level. The modification redefined the ground floor level, raised by +0.50 m relative to the sidewalk, ensuring proper height alignment with the existing road network. This change required the redesign of access points and the fence, introducing ramps compliant with L.13/89 and D.M. 236/89, as well as new pedestrian gates integrated into the façade along Via I° Maggio.
The project reorganized the stairwells, internal layouts, and part of the façades, including new openings in the bathrooms of the end units. It also included the change of use of a first-floor unit into an office and the localized expansion of the attic above two apartments.
The study defined the building envelope and systems with a focus on energy efficiency: insulation meeting thermal transmittance limits, optimization of natural lighting, zonal temperature control, and heating via district heating. The structure was built in reinforced concrete, with brick infill walls and finishes alternating exposed brick, plaster, and a tiled roof.
