The proposed intervention concerns the urban redevelopment of public spaces in Finalpina, within the municipality of Finale Ligure. The goal was to enhance pedestrian accessibility while promoting tourism, commerce, and economic activity within the historical and cultural context of the buildings, aiming at the overall enhancement of a large area characterized by the presence of culturally and historically significant structures.
The interventions included the reorganization of pedestrian paths and the implementation of public green spaces, as well as the upgrading of utility systems such as water networks, sewage, stormwater drainage, and public lighting. The project also involved a careful selection of materials for street and sidewalk paving, unifying the surfaces to improve accessibility for people with disabilities and thereby eliminating architectural barriers.
In this case, the study covered all phases of the design process, starting from surveying, through feasibility studies, final and executive design, and concluding with construction management and support during testing and commissioning.
